Palworld 1.0

Palworld 1.0 old mods: what to remove first

Short answer: if Palworld started crashing after 1.0 and mods were ever installed, treat old mod files or a mod loader as a top suspect. Back up your save before changing files.

What is official

Pocketpair warned that Palworld 1.0 changes game systems enough that old mods can cause crashes, save-loading problems, or broken quest progress. Pocketpair also says simply disabling mods is not enough.

  • Official: Remove old mods before troubleshooting 1.0 crashes.
  • Official: Do not assume a disabled mod is gone.
  • General troubleshooting: Verify game files after removing mods.
  • General troubleshooting: Reinstall mods one at a time only after they are marked compatible.

Safe order

  1. Back up the save or server world.
  2. Remove current mods and loaders using the mod author's uninstall notes where available.
  3. Check whether old mod files remain after disabling a mod manager profile.
  4. Use Steam or the relevant storefront to verify the game installation.
  5. Launch once with no mods. Stop here if the game now works.
  6. Add only one confirmed 1.0-compatible mod at a time.

Do not do this

  • Do not delete your save as a crash fix.
  • Do not run random registry edits.
  • Do not reinstall several mods at once and then guess which one broke the game.
  • Do not treat a mod-manager toggle as proof that files are gone.
