Palworld 1.0
Palworld 1.0 old mods: what to remove first
Short answer: if Palworld started crashing after 1.0 and mods were ever installed, treat old mod files or a mod loader as a top suspect. Back up your save before changing files.
What is official
Pocketpair warned that Palworld 1.0 changes game systems enough that old mods can cause crashes, save-loading problems, or broken quest progress. Pocketpair also says simply disabling mods is not enough.
- Official: Remove old mods before troubleshooting 1.0 crashes.
- Official: Do not assume a disabled mod is gone.
- General troubleshooting: Verify game files after removing mods.
- General troubleshooting: Reinstall mods one at a time only after they are marked compatible.
Safe order
- Back up the save or server world.
- Remove current mods and loaders using the mod author's uninstall notes where available.
- Check whether old mod files remain after disabling a mod manager profile.
- Use Steam or the relevant storefront to verify the game installation.
- Launch once with no mods. Stop here if the game now works.
- Add only one confirmed 1.0-compatible mod at a time.
Do not do this
- Do not delete your save as a crash fix.
- Do not run random registry edits.
- Do not reinstall several mods at once and then guess which one broke the game.
- Do not treat a mod-manager toggle as proof that files are gone.
