Dragon's Dogma 2 Targets 60 FPS in August as Switch 2 Version Holds Above 30 FPS
Dragon's Dogma 2 producer Naoto Oyama says Capcom is aiming for console Performance Mode to reach about 60 FPS in a late-August update. This is a development target, not an independently tested result.

The planned late-August update applies to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Oyama also says the in-development Switch 2 version currently maintains at least 30 FPS and exceeds 30 in many scenes. Capcom has not claimed locked frame rates, final resolutions or a finished mode breakdown.
Oyama described many smaller console optimizations accumulating into a larger Performance Mode improvement. The target language matters: reaching approximately 60 FPS does not mean a locked 60 FPS output in every scene.
Affected existing consoles are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Capcom has not published a final frame-time analysis or scene-by-scene range.
No final resolution, ray-tracing setting or Series S exception was specified in the checked interview.
Wait for the patch and measured testing before treating 60 FPS as delivered.
Oyama says the Switch 2 build is currently showing a minimum 30 FPS and runs higher in many scenes. He attributes part of that result to optimization work first carried out for the existing console versions.
The Switch 2 port is still in development, so current figures can change before October.
At least 30 FPS is the producer's description, not an independent capture.
The statement does not establish a locked 30 FPS mode or a 30-to-60 variable range.
Capcom says its continuing RE Engine work across Switch 2 projects also benefits the port.
Capcom has scheduled Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen for October 9, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The Nintendo Switch 2 version launches the same day as one package containing the base game and expansion.
Dark Arisen is paid expansion content on the existing platforms.
Nintendo Switch 2 receives Dragon's Dogma 2 for the first time on October 9.
The August performance update is separate from the October expansion release.
