Steam Machine
Steam Machine compatibility checker
Compatibility and performance are separate questions on the Steam Machine. Pick a game and your target for a clear verdict, the anti-cheat and launcher details, 8 GB VRAM pressure, and the internal resolution and upscaling to aim for.
Runs on SteamOS
Palworld runs on SteamOS and the Steam Machine can hold this target, using FSR where needed.
- Official SteamOS or Deck status
- Steam Deck Playable official
- Anti-cheat
- None kernel-level
- Required launcher
- Steam
- Controller support
- Full controller support
- VRAM pressure at this target
- moderate
- Suggested internal resolution
- Render near 1080p to 1440p, FSR Quality up to 1440p
- Windows drivers
- Official Valve Windows drivers are available for the Steam Machine.
Installing Windows on the Steam Machine currently means replacing SteamOS. Valve has released official Windows drivers, but the dual-boot wizard is not available yet, so you cannot keep both without a manual setup and a drive wipe.
How to read the verdict
- Runs on SteamOS: the game works on SteamOS and the hardware holds your target.
- Runs with limitations: it works, but a launcher, expansion, or online mode adds caveats.
- Blocked by anti-cheat: the anti-cheat does not support Linux, so you need Windows.
- Windows required: the game or Game Pass needs Windows, which currently replaces SteamOS.
- Performance is the concern: it runs, but the 8 GB, RDNA 3 GPU is the limit at this target.
- Insufficient evidence: FrameReady has not confirmed SteamOS behavior yet, often pre-launch.
