RTX 3060 and GTA 6 planning

The RTX 3060 is still a solid 1080p card, so do not replace it on reflex for GTA 6. Nobody has an exact FPS number yet, but you can still get a clear keep-or-upgrade answer from a planning check.

Bottom line

For the predicted 1080p target, treat the RTX 3060 as a keep-for-now card, not an automatic upgrade. Only shop for a new GPU if the check points at graphics, and only after you have ruled out CPU, RAM, and storage.

Do not buy on a guess. Check your exact setup in 60 seconds and see the one part that matters.

What the RTX 3060 can answer now

The card gives FrameReady enough information to estimate whether the graphics side looks reasonable for a planning target.

  • Use 1080p first before assuming 1440p or high refresh targets.
  • Check VRAM pressure when texture-heavy settings become known.
  • Treat the result as predicted until official PC data exists.

When keeping it makes sense

A result that says ready or close should not push you into replacing a working GPU.

  • Your target is 1080p 60 FPS.
  • Your CPU, RAM, and storage are not the first weak point.
  • You are willing to tune settings after launch instead of chasing max settings.

When to compare GPUs

A comparison is useful when the readiness result points to graphics first and the target matters enough to justify spending.

  • The result says graphics is holding back your selected target.
  • You want more headroom for 1440p or higher settings.
  • Your power supply, case, and monitor make the upgrade practical.

What changes after launch

Real PC benchmarks should replace broad planning advice with hardware-group averages.

  • Compare RTX 3060 reports by resolution, settings, and patch.
  • Ignore tiny sample groups until enough reports exist.
  • Watch one percent lows, not only average FPS.
