FrameReady guide

GTA 6 on PC or console: which should you use?

Here is the straight call: if you own a PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X, or Series S, that is your GTA 6 machine. Do not overthink it. PC is a real option too, but its requirements are not official yet, so a PC answer is a plan, not a promise.

Bottom line

Own a listed console? Play there and stop shopping. PC only? Run the 60-second check to see if your rig clears the predicted target and which part is weak, then decide. Do not spend a cent on a rumor.

Do not buy on a guess. Check your exact setup in 60 seconds and see the one part that matters.

When console is the simple answer

Console is the least complicated choice when you already own a listed model and do not want to plan around unknown PC requirements.

  • PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are listed platforms.
  • You do not need to compare PC parts if you already own a supported console.
  • Exact console FPS and resolution modes are still not confirmed.

When PC still makes sense

PC is still worth checking if that is where your setup, monitor, and library already live.

  • Use the Can I Run tool for a predicted planning result.
  • Compare only the first weak point instead of rebuilding the whole PC.
  • Wait for official PC requirements before treating any result as final.

When buying now is weak

Buying hardware too early can waste money if the final performance details change the target.

  • Do not buy a console only for an unconfirmed FPS mode.
  • Do not buy a PC part without checking the full rig first.
  • If your current setup has a path, save the result and recheck after stronger data arrives.
