FrameReady guide

GTA 6 budget upgrade order

The order you upgrade in decides whether your money does anything. Buy the wrong part and it just sits there waiting on the weak one. So do not guess the order, let your result set it.

Bottom line

Run the check first, then upgrade the one part it flags, not the flashiest one. For a lot of older PCs that is a GPU, more RAM, or an SSD long before a full rebuild. If a console is cheaper for you, that counts as an answer too.

Do not buy on a guess. Check your exact setup in 60 seconds and see the one part that matters.

Step one: set the target

A budget plan needs a target before it needs a shopping cart.

  • Pick 1080p, 1440p, or 4K.
  • Pick 30 FPS, 60 FPS, 90 FPS, or 120 FPS.
  • Do not shop for 4K parts if you only need a 1080p target.

Step two: fix the first weak point

FrameReady's score is useful because it points to the first part to compare.

  • Graphics first means compare GPU options.
  • CPU first means check platform compatibility.
  • RAM or storage first may be cheaper than a bigger rebuild.

Step three: compare console honestly

Sometimes a console is the cleaner budget path, especially before PC requirements exist.

  • PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are listed platforms.
  • A console can avoid uncertain PC upgrade math.
  • If you already own a supported console, buying PC parts may not be urgent.
