Buy nothing new if you already have a supported platform

The best advice is often to stop. A current-generation console or a ray-tracing-capable PC already covers you.

  • PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and a PC that meets the requirements are the supported platforms.
  • PS4 and Xbox One are not supported, since this is a current-generation remake.
  • Do not upgrade hardware if your current setup already meets the requirements.

Check ray tracing before buying a PC or GPU

The PC requirement that catches people out is that ray tracing cannot be turned off.

  • A GPU without ray tracing hardware cannot run the game, regardless of raw speed.
  • The minimum tier already leans on an upscaler at 1080p 30 FPS.
  • Confirm ray tracing support and 16 GB RAM plus an SSD before spending on PC parts.
